Carrying Forward the Past and Opening up the future
In 1997, Hong Kong returned to China. This is a historic and epoch-making event. After more than
a year of preparation, taking advantage of the favorable conditions when overseas Chinese in
Boston were establishing new associations one after another to contribute to the gradually
warming relations between China and the United States, the Boston Guangzhou Association was born
in September 1998. Up to now, it has gone through more than ten years. Through the concerted
efforts of all colleagues in this association, contributions have been made in the Boston
Chinese community.
1. It was officially registered with the Massachusetts government and became a legal non-profit
organization.
2. The Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in New York sent a congratulatory
letter, warmly congratulating her on her birth.
3. Participate in social activities and raise funds and make donations for the disaster-stricken
areas in China.
4. The conference journal and news that have been continuously published and distributed for
many
years. Regularly hold various social and friendship activities for members.
5. It was a great honor to receive the delegation led by Director Xu Guanghan of the Overseas
Chinese Affairs Office of Guangzhou on a successful visit to Boston.
6. We successfully received a delegation of overseas Chinese affairs and medical staff from
Liwan
District, Guangzhou City, led by Director Lei Yongqiang, visiting Boston.
7. It is an honor to be selected as a representative to listen to Premier Zhu Rongji's speech to
all sectors of society during his visit to Boston.
8. Organize various lectures and provide a wide range of services for overseas Chinese.
